North Circular Road Regeneration featured on the BBC!!

A multi-million pound regeneration project by Notting Hill Housing has featured in a BBC programme, which looks at how abandoned homes are being transformed across Britain.

‘Britain’s Empty Homes’, presented by Joe Crowley, featured the refurbishment of 257 homes on the North Circular Road in Enfield, London, which Notting Hill Housing has transformed in partnership with the GLA and Enfield Council.

Notting Hill’s Project Director Ken Barnett, said:

“This programme highlights the vast transformation to the area since we began work in 2010. We are very proud to be providing affordable family homes in London and this highlights the positive effects regeneration has on the local community.”

Notting Hill’s involvement began in 2009 when Transport for London decided not to proceed with road widening along the two mile stretch of the A406. Notting Hill agreed the purchase of the properties for refurbishment, as well as vacant land and some commercial units. The refurbishment works has included 50 squat evictions and the removal of 1,669 skips of rubbish. Having been directly involved with this, I can vouch for the tireless effort from all teams involved, and naturally I have a great sense of satisfaction with how the scheme is panning out.

Well done to Notting Hill Housing, Durkan and of course Martin Arnold Associates LLP.
